Hi, we're Jingyue and Jiao 👋, two Chinese friends living in Scotland.

Our friendship started with food. Not just eating it, but tasting, comparing and swapping favourites. Whenever we found something good, we wanted to open it with friends and talk about it. That's how this shop began.

The trouble was, the snacks we grew up with were hard to find here, and the ones you could find were always the same few. So we started picking them ourselves: heritage Chinese snacks from different regions, sweet, savoury and spicy, the kind you won't spot in the supermarket.

You might know us as KoiJoy. Lots of you asked if we were a Japanese brand. We're Chinese, and while the koi is loved in both cultures, we wanted a name that says China straight away. So we picked the panda: China's favourite homebody, and the best sofa snack buddy we know. Same two friends, same snacks, new name: Couch Panda.
